To the Church of the Rooster

The Jewish people have designated the western wall as sacred ground. It is a symbol to them. They wail because the top of temple mount is occupied by Muslims. They wail because the nation is still at war and not yet restored to the grandeur of David … so they wail for the Messiah to come. They wail because the temple was destroyed because of their rebellion and they long for the 3rd temple period as they call it to begin. To me the wailing wall is a symbol of the need to share the GOOD NEWS about the MESSIAH who has come with the Jewish people. Jesus is the Messiah. Father pour out your Spirit on the Jewish people who don’t yet know you. Open the eyes that are blind to see that you are the fulfillment of all promises. In you we are ONE united nation. In you we have the perfect temple. In you there is perfect peace. Draw the people of your own race back to you Jesus. Have mercy … display your unlimited patience. Breakdown the strongholds of generational sin, and blindness and obstinance about the GOOD NEWS in YOU! FATHER IN THE NAME OF YOUR PRECIOUS SON JESUS WE PRAY AMEN!

Luke 17:20-21 Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, "The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, [21] nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you."

To the Church of the Rooster
The Church of the Rooster is near the house of Caiaphas. It is believed that Jesus was tried by the Sanhedrin near this place. Under the floor of the church marking the house of Caiaphas is an old cistern type cell that very well could have been used to hold prisoners.

It is near this spot that Peter fulfilled the prophecy of Jesus that before the Rooster crowed the Peter would deny him.
Matthew 26:3 Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas,

Matthew 26:57 Those who had arrested Jesus took him to Caiaphas, the high priest, where the teachers of the law and the elders had assembled.

John 18:24-27 Then Annas sent him, still bound, to Caiaphas the high priest. [25] As Simon Peter stood warming himself, he was asked, "You are not one of his disciples, are you?" He denied it, saying, "I am not." [26] One of the high priest's servants, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, challenged him, "Didn't I see you with him in the olive grove?" [27] Again Peter denied it, and at that moment a rooster began to crow.

John 18:14 Caiaphas was the one who had advised the Jews that it would be good if one man died for the people.

Peter’s plight is one we can all relate to … called upon at a moments notice to witness to our Savior … there have been times when we shrunk back. We missed the opportune moment. We’ve betrayed Him. Praise the LORD our God is the God of second chances. The Lord loved Peter. Scripture records His special effort to restore his servant have the denial… “Go tell the disciples and Peter (THAT I AM RISEN) and that I will MEET THEM!” Scripture even records that Jesus made a special one on one appearance to Peter (1 Cor. 15:5) Repentance and forgiveness of sins was going to be preached to all nations in the name of Jesus and it was starting with Peter and the rest of the disciples. Peter got a second chance… Every day God’s mercy is new for us as well. Peter received Jesus offer of GRACE and ran with it. He spoke of Jesus in the city were he was crucified with great boldness. If you have heard the Rooster crow remember that our God is a God of second chances.
