Dec 12 Israel – Last Picture of Jerusalem

We traveled to the Southern slopes of the mountains that surround Jerusalem. From there we could see a stunning picture of the city that has played such an amazing role in salvation history … On the Eastern slopes (to the right) in the picture is the Mt. of Olives. If you follow the slope to the south and just over the top to the East is Bethany where Jesus was anointed by Mary with a pint of pure nard. Following the slope to the South East is where the mountain meets the Jordan is the city of Jericho where Jesus called Zacheus from a tree and brought salvation to his house for he came to seek and save that which was lost. In the triangle in front of the Temple Mount – nestled between the Kidron valley on the right and the valley of Hinnom (formerly known as Gehenna) on the left is the City of David. On the Western slopes looking down on Temple Mt is the city of Zion where Caiphas house was found and where the disciples met in the upper room. Salvation HISTORY is held up before your eyes in this picture…

As you look at this picture I want to ask you, “what do you suppose is the greatest day in all of history??” Is it the day Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the donkey and was hailed with loud Hosannas. Is it the day the Jesus took our punishment for sin and experienced a cursed eternity in our behalf? Was it the day Jesus rose again in victory over our sin and death and Satan? … the day he appeared as the CHAMPION BEFORE THE DISCIPLES? … the day the Holy Spirit was poured out on the 120 gathered in the upper room and the world began to be turned upside down by the Gospel as it spread by the fire of the Holy Spirit? All these events were eternity changing events … but all of them would mean nothing for you unless something else happened in history. All of them mean nothing unless you enter in. The greatest day in your history is when you enter in to HIS STORY by faith. The greatest day is when by His Spirit you shout HOSSANA – Lord Save ME! The greatest day is when by His gracious call you turn in repentance and die to trusting your self and enter in to the glorious payment of Jesus for your sins on the cross … when by faith his death becomes yours. The greatest day is when by faith the resurrection of Christ becomes your resurrection. The greatest day is when you begin to walk with the glorious Savior who has all authority as one of his conquering saints… attacking strongholds with the authority of His name and witnessing to his love and power in your life. Enter in!! ENTER IN!
