The Southern Steps of the Temple Where the Pilgrims would Enter

The Southern Steps had ritual bath after ritual bath that the pilgrims would need to wash in before entering the temple then they would proceed up the temple mount. The steps that lead into the temple were different heights so that the pilgrims would have to watch their step … go slow … and contemplate the Holy and the Holy God they would soon meet. Psalm 24:3-6 Who may ascend the hill of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? [4] He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. [5] He will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God his Savior. [6] Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob. God is Holy and His people knew that. Sometimes we pass over it and it drains meaning and value from the sacrifice Jesus, the Son of God, made for us so we might be in relationship with the Holy God. No more do we need to take countless ritual baths year after year. Jesus died once for all the Righteous for the unrighteous to bring you to GOD
HOW BEAUTIFUL IS THE BODY OF CHRIST - Ephes. 5:25-27 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her [26] to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, [27] and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
